"Emergency" handset
You wouldn't believe how cheep you can get Nokia handset this days. Most of us remember those long battery life models. I was amazed with the price of it. Just £7! That actually makes excellent emergency handset you can hand to your lad on those trips where getting lost is a risk. The primary emergency function of that is however the snake game! This can easily entertain your kid at the long train trip or during the looong wait at the platform (we're just waiting for Glasgow Central @Carlisle)

Ready to go
Everything is packed and ready for Monday morning. It's hard to believe that in those three bags we managed to pack our bedroom, kitchen and wardrobe for whole next week.

The railway strike!
The only day we plan to use a train and it may be not operating! We should be good to get to Glasgow but that is just half a way.
Hope we're going to find a way around it.

Megabus to Highlands
Did you know that it is only that low as £18 for the journey to Inverness with Megabus? If you're Tesco shopper you can use your clubcard vouchers to make it even £18 return. How good is that.
Anyone fancy a salmon fishing?

The Orkney Isles
The location of our first journey is chosen. The Orkney Islands. We start bold but this is what a real men trip is about.
Below is the very spot we are heading to. Papa Westray - one of the most northern Orkney Islands. Home to some 90 people, puffins, seals, archaeological sites and adventure.
That is how Papa Westray looks like from the plane we'll be flying at.
And that is how it looks from the satellite
Out great journey will start on Monday 25th of May 20015 and will take 6 days. To travel total of 1400 miles, we'll be taking the trains, buses, boats, cars and aircrafts.
All of this to see the stunning views, amazing animals and some of the best archaeological sites in the world. Julian is so excited to see the puffins and maybe the basking sharks and killer whales. I'm looking forward most to see the Ness of Brodgar.
Bellow are the puffins
and the Ness of Brodgar 5000 years ago
More information is to come before the trip and there will be a special relation during the trip too.
