Wild camping in Scotland

If you can camp literally anywhere why not just by the sea...
The unexpected benefit of the wild camping in Thurso was a concern police officer giving us a lift to the ferry terminal ;)

Thurso

We're almost there. Just few miles left. It's beautiful finish of today's train trip. We're surrounded by the sea on one side and the moorlands and hills on the other.
Who's going to accept the challenge to bit a ticket price we've paid. It was just £27 for Birmingham-Thurso for me and Julian all together. How good is that!

"Emergency" handset

You wouldn't believe how cheep you can get Nokia handset this days. Most of us remember those long battery life models. I was amazed with the price of it. Just £7! That actually makes excellent emergency handset you can hand to your lad on those trips where getting lost is a risk. The primary emergency function of that is however the snake game! This can easily entertain your kid at the long train trip or during the looong wait at the platform (we're just waiting for Glasgow Central @Carlisle)

Ready to go

Everything is packed and ready for Monday morning. It's hard to believe that in those three bags we managed to pack our bedroom, kitchen and wardrobe for whole next week.

The railway strike!

The only day we plan to use a train and it may be not operating! We should be good to get to Glasgow but that is just half a way.
Hope we're going to find a way around it.

Megabus to Highlands

Did you know that it is only that low as £18 for the journey to Inverness with Megabus? If you're Tesco shopper you can use your clubcard vouchers to make it even £18 return. How good is that.
Anyone fancy a salmon fishing?
